Virginia Cooperative Extension/4-H Club

A joint program sponsored by Virginia Tech, Virginia State University, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, state and local governments. Extension provides educational programs conducted in the workplace, schools, and communities in VA. Extension agents teach people innovative ways to solve problems and use researched-based information from Virginia Tech and Virginia State Universities.
4-H is an informal, practical learn-by-doing, fun and educational program for youth 5-18 years old.
Volunteer training for club leadership is available by contacting the Extension Office at 393-5197.

Girl Scout Council of Colonial Coast

Provides resident camps, June through August, offering girls age 5 to 17 an outdoor experience. Folders with complete information are available in March. Day camps in various locations operate for 1 to 4 weeks each summer. For some camps, there are buses.

Little Theatre of Portsmouth
Offers a community-based theater program open to the general public for auditions and participation in theater productions. Three plays are offered a season.
